Minority Appeasement:A Threat To Healthy Democracy

It was in the mid-dec last year, when Ethiopian PM, Mr.Meles Zenawi talked about "Minority Appeasement", Democracy and the rising tension with Islamic Court of Somalia, in an interview to washingtonpost.com , shortly before their attack on Somalia.
Ironically when that phrase has become synonymous to the worst global Islamic threat to democracy, unfortunately the present UPA Govt. in India is playing the same dangerous political game aiming at upcoming assembly elections.
Rightly the BJP on Wednesday lashed out at the Congress regarding Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's remark that, "equity did not amount to appeasement of minorities."
"The UPA government had indulged in the 'worst form of appeasement' during its rule by doling out sops with an eye on the vote bank.", as per PTI quoting Mr.Ravi Shankar Prasad, the BJP leader.
"Citing the instances of delay on Afzal Guru's hanging, earmarking loans and resources, religion-based headcount in Army, Prasad demanded to know under what doctrine of equity these instances fit in."
"Even BJP was committed to minorities and deprived classes, but not in the manner that caused 'alienation and envy' between the communities." he added.
As per ibnlive.com news , "The BJP wants not only minority but all Indians, as also all deprived, to develop and contribute to the nation, because it believes in justice to all and appeasement to none.", he told.
