HINDUISM : My Perception

HINDUISM will be the 'New Tag' I am adding today to commemorate the 2nd 'Taggiversary' of Technorati ! I will try to add, as and when I stumble upon something relating to my perception.

I owe, my sincere thanks to CNN-IBN , especially to it's Dynamic Editor-in-chief, Mr.Rajdeep Sardesai, under whose leadership, CNN-IBN , was accoladed as The Best English News Channel and three other awards, within 11 months of it's Launch.

abhiji......

NASA have proved that ram setu (bridge between india and sri lanka) is not naturally formed but man made, bridge can be clearly seen from its satellite imagery. This proved that ram did exist. They have also conformed that the bridge rock is relatively newer and of different shape from the surrounding rocks, and these rock type are not tropical rock found near ocean but of mountainous rock.

Prabhudas.....

Hi All,Kindly go throgh the intial verses in Bhagavad Gita. Lord krishna(You can call him Lord,Jesus,Allah or anybody) says 'In this world nothing is real!, The only truth is Me, every other things are illusions created by Me. I am the ultimate truth'. I feel being Hindu,Muslim or Christian are only the channels to reach him. Hence this debate/disputes is absolutely irrelavant. Let us get on with our lives with whatever path we follow.

Narain Kataria.....

The deadly combination of Islamic and Communist axis, which has been degrading Hindus all the time, and attempting to obliterate Hinduism from the Indian soil is forcing Hindu youth to show their soliderity with their Hindu brothers. It is a sort of mild protest against Islamic terrorism and Hindu bashing.

Of all the comments I find this one just perfect. We Hindus are being riled left & right & this is one of the ways we show to our brothers we are one.

Gururaj......

Hinduism is possibly the only religion which recognized an atheist (Charvaka) and acknowledged his contribution. The core religion is not at all ritualistic. It depends on each one how (s/)he wishes to pray to God through (1) Duty (Karma yoga, (2) Devotion (bhakthi), (3) Knowledge (Gnana yoga), or (4) Service to others (Seva). There are no compulsions to do any yatra (pilgrimage), any visits to temples, or even pray at specified times. I do not practice any rituals, yet I am a Hindu as much as anyone who is ritualistic. It was Hindusism which said Sarve Janah Sukhino Bhavantu (Let everyone in the world be happy - irrespective of their religion), Vasudhaiva Kutumbam (the world is one large family). Hindusim does not proclaim any greatness, nor does it command the disciples to spread by sword or crusades. Budha, Mahaveer Jain, and Guru Nanak were products from Hindu system. It hardly matters whether you sport any religious motif on your body, dress, or follow any ritual. Once a Hindu, you are always a Hindu! God is neither pleased or displeased by such displays. It's what you are inside, and what you do to others that alone matters.

Chan.......

a positive article on Hindus. I completely identify with things written in the article. Me an engineer working on the cutting edge of wireless technology, pray daily and wear t-shirts with hindu motifs (I live in US).there are some comments (from Hindus) that see this article in negative light. For them I suggest to be positive since there is an old saying "Jaaki rahi bhavana jaisi, Prabhu moorat dekhi tien taisi". So just be positive and be proud to be a Hindu (Sanatan Dharma).

Gaurav Sharma......

As for the 'rebellious' propagandist individual who will miss no opportunity to put down Sanatan Dharma, well you guys should realize that the very fact you're trying too hard to throw mud on us, proves that you feel inferior to us and that you are aware of the shortcomings of your faith whatever it may be. As for this article, I must compliment IBN - for the literary skills of the journalist who's written this article are quite impressive.

Shri Ramesh Singh, I am so sorry to hear your sad news and very happy you found your parents address and your root dharma. Always remember Upanisadic saying, "Satyameva Jayate", Truth alone Triumphs. Sataymeva Jayate is also our nation's motto. I am sure, converted hindus in India soon will realise their mistakes and they will return to their Sanatan root. Hindu dharma is a way of life, a culture, a civilization. It can accommodate every way of worship and living. Be always a proud Hindu and keep up your good work for the Hindu dharma and our nation. Vande Mataram.

Hindus never invaded any country in her last 1000 years of history. Hindus invented the Number system. Zero was invented by Aryabhatta. The world's first University was established in Takshila in 700BC. More than 10,500 students from all over the world studied more than 60 subjects. The University of Nalanda built in the 4 th century BC was one of the greatest achievements of ancient India in the field of education. According to the Forbes magazine, Sanskrit is the most suitable language for computer software. Ayurveda is the earliest school of medicine known to humans. India was once the richest empire on earth. The art of navigation was born in the river Sindh 5000 years ago. The very word "Navigation" is derived from the Sanskrit word NAVGATIH. The disctionary word "Juggernaut" was taken from the Lord "Jagannath".The value of pi was first calculated by Budhayana, and he explained the concept of what is now k! nown as the Pythagorean Theorem. British scholars have last year (1999) officially published that Budhayan's works dates to the 6 th Century which is long before the European mathematicians. Algebra, trigonometry and calculus came from India . Quadratic equations were by Sridharacharya in the 11 th Century; the largest numbers the Greeks and the Romans used were 106 whereas Indians used numbers as big as 10 53. The earliest reservoir and dam for irrigation was built in Saurashtra. Chess was invented by Hindus . Sushruta is the father of surgery. 2600 years ago he and health scientists of his time conducted surgeries like cesareans, cataract, fractures and urinary stones. Usage of anaesthesia was well known in ancient Hindus. When many cultures in the world were only nomadic forest dwellers over 5000 years ago, Hindus established Harappan culture in Sindhu Valley ( Indus Valley Civilisation). The place value system, the decimal system was developed by Hindus in 100 BC.These are the material "greatness" of Hindus.

That was before thousand of years. What about today? when will we face today and stop living in past glory. Sanskrit is great language and scriptures are gr8 sources of knowledge. But as a matter of fact, more people outside of India knows about Sanskrit than Indians. We are always introduced to our gr8ness by the foreigners. We boast about our gr8 building architecture in past but our knowledge is very minimal regarding that architecture and we respect the ruins of that architectures by using them as toilet. We are demoralized individuals by the defeats of the centuries. How many things in India makes the Indians proud ?? ( Leave the NRIs apart ). No doubt we are gr8 and capable of doing so many things but we still needs some soul searching and introspection. We need to find where we are lacking. We need to recreate that past glory with grit and determination. We need to throw out the inferiority complex and slavery mind. Treat all the fellow Indians equally and root out the evils of cast descrimination. Pay back to the society to improve the lives of millions. Join the hands and recreate the glorious past. Jai Hind.
